ABOUT THE PROJECT
You know it when you see it. A cool thing makes you pause and appreciate that
there are humans out there making this thing, that the technology to make it exists,
that the world is still turning so you could see it.
It doesn't need to be a huge, awe-inspiring moment.
A cool thing just makes you pause and think, "Wow. That's kinda cool."
Your submission is compared against a database of potentially malicious URLs and
other previously suggested cool things. If there are no flags or duplicates, it is
logged into a database where a human at Answer in Progress will eventually look at it.
If it fits into a theme we see in other submissions, it may get included in an issue.
Nope! We want to reduce the friction of submitting cool things so we don't request any
way of contacting you in the submission form (which means we can't reach you if the
suggestion is used).
We do feature the quote and the suggestor name in featured posts, so if you check out
the archive, you might just find yours.
I'm a YouTuber and think a lot about how algorithmic curation and personalized feeds make up
a majority of our media diet. I don't hate it... But I never want it to be the only option.
I think there's a lot of value in a human being (or a small group of human beings) pointing to
a thing and acknowledging it is cool, especially when an algorithm wouldn't.
To protect against spammers, we have a rate limit of 5 submissions an hour. There are ways to get
around this... But the easiest way is just waiting out the clock.
